There was champagne all round a couple of weeks ago at the Home of Translation, as we celebrated our certification in two ISO norms: ISO 17100:2015 Translation services and ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management systems.
We were certified by our auditor at the end of his visit to our offices and after months of careful preparation. Another audit will be carried out at the six-month stage, and then yearly after that to ensure we keep up the good work!
Why bother with ISO norms?
ISO norms are the highest level of internationally recognised standards. ISO 17100:2015 is the first standard specific to professional translation services and was created to respond to the need in the market for a universally accepted benchmark. Although other standards for translation do exist (eg. Certitrad and EN 15038), only ISO norms are delivered by independent agencies, have an international scope and are monitored by annual audits to ensure the level of quality is maintained.
ISO 17100:2015 ensures quality in:
Translation and proofreading
Selection of our translators
Translation project management
Response to customer feedback and client relations
Find out more about these standards on our ISO standards page.
