Every year, Bordeaux pays homage to its beverage par excellence: wine!
The festival is a major event in the city and, as everybody knows, its history is intimately linked with wine… so much so that its name has even become a colour!
Thanks to its location, in the heart of Bordeaux next to the city hall (which yes, is still standing despite the social media reports of it being burnt down by protestors!), the Home of Translation also has strong connections with the world of wine.
Our clients include prestigious wineries, cooperages, cork manufacturers, and exhibition and congress organisers, for whom we provide a range of linguistic services (SEO, subtitling, desktop publishing, translation and interpretation). We also work with cultural organisations such as the Cité du Vin (take a look at our references to see more).
Many of our clients are taking part in the event, which is a perfect opportunity to visit Bordeaux if you haven’t already done so and to taste some of its wines. The festival is composed of different pavilions that can be accessed with a pass that includes 11 tastings, 1 glass, 1 workshop with the Bordeaux Wine School and many other advantages. There is also a gastronomic village which is well worth a visit!
Another highlight of this festival is the magnificent tall ships that harbour in the port for the occasion. This year, an old acquaintance of the city will be anchoring at the quays, Le Belem, as well as El Galeón from Seville and Santa Maria La Manuela from Portugal.
As a new feature this year, the festival includes a drone show that can be seen from the banks of the Garonne on the evenings of 23rd and 24th June. What better way to celebrate the arrival of summer?
Bordeaux and its wines are waiting for you…
Happy tasting!
